The National Center for Mission and Exploited Children was receiving continuous data from multiple sources on a daily basis. Operators were tasked with routing incoming data to various agencies based on a few primary variables. I was asked to help create a dashboard for routing which included MLÂ algorithms to reduce the task completion time in decision making for report routing.
Working in tandem with NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) a concept design was created for an ML tool to assist end users' decision making from data inputs. The design iterations were created from the results of informal user interviews, stakeholder input, and ML data scientist's feedback. From the initial wireframes, a fully interactive prototype was created in order to conduct user testing in a more realistic environment.
User Testing was planned to use a combination of open-ended qualitative questioning as well as quantitative data collection.
The usability of the design was benchmarked, and design improvements were implemented based on the results of the testing. The user interface was successfully deployed into production.
